INTRODUCING Cereal

Our little man is eating cereal from a spoon. We thought he might not like it and it may take weeks for him to get the hang of it. I even read some babies will resist. No way not Braxton he LOVED it. The first day (pics with the I love cereal bib) he blew more bubbles with the cereal than he ate, but he thought it was the coolest thing ever. The next time we thickened it up and he went to town. He ate more than he spit out. We knew we did not have to worry about the possibility of an allergy because he has been getting a half teaspoon in each bottle to help with his reflux. The little amount in his bottle made his belly feel so much better. Such a simple easy fix. He still has to take his prescription for his reflux and more than likely will need to until he is a year old. With the little cereal in his bottle and the prescription he has been a HAPPY, HAPPY baby! This also helped the kid put a little weight on. Majority of his 0-3 pants never fit in the waist before he out grew them in the length. His doctor said this is typical of babies with reflux as bad as his.

Payton was at the house today while Candace was at school. Payton thought it was cool Braxton was eating from a spoon. He was cheering his cousin on. It was super cute. Payton finally learned to say Braxton. Before he only referred to Braxton as "cole baby". He breaks up his name as says "Brax-ton". Payton is attentive when Braxton cries. He says "Braxton noise" when Braxton isn't crying when he is just cooing or yelling. Payton and Braxton are growing up so fast!

A Busy Week

This week was a week of many firsts! The biggest first is
BRAXTON SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!
I kept looking at the clock thinking he is going to wake up wanting a bottle anytime now. He went down last night at 10:00 pm and woke up at 6:00am!!!! Anthony thinks he would have slept longer because he was only whimpering and not all the way awake when I went to get him. I hope this trend continues. I know that he might not do it every single night from know on but he is on the right track !
He also seems to have outgrown almost all of his 0-3 clothes this week. The pants still are big in the waist but to short. He still is long and skinny. He isn't crazy skinny but his legs seem to be growing faster than his waist.
Below you find many more of Braxton's many first that he did all this past week.
On Tuesday night we began putting Braxton in his crib. That night we bathed him and got him ready for bed. We feed him and put him down in his crib. He had only slept in his crib a few times during nap. I thought he would not sleep well in his crib in his room without us. I was wrong. He slept fine. I on the other hand did NOT! I was up every hour checking on him. I was a wreck I cried and so wanted to put him back in the room with us. I was good and did not get him. My baby is growing up so fast.
Braxton has to have a burp rag or a blanket to cuddle when he goes to sleep. You can tell he is tired when he pulls it close to his face. He will even cover his eyes with his burp rag to help him go to sleep. This makes it easy for me to know when to go put him in his crib. He finally is able to put himself to sleep.
His cousin Payton was nice enough to give Braxton his favorite toys from when he was this age. One of them was the Bumbo. Braxton does not like to be held unless he can sit up looking out at the room. He doesn't really like to lounge, he has to be sitting up. He is proud he can hold his head up. We just hold him by his waist while he is sitting. I thought he CANNOT be old enough to sit in the Bumbo. I was so wrong. This is one of his new favorite things. He sits in this like a big boy and watches his educational video. I sit beside him during the whole 30 minute video and he is able to sit up. He also LOVES to sit in it and watch the dogs play as well.
I know he looks mad or mean. This is Braxton's favorite face to make. He always curls his eyebrows in. I put him in the seat and thought he would scream. No way, he loved this as well. I was looking at the new colors and lights. I was laughing so hard because he would laugh and then make this face. I do not know what he is thinking when he makes this face. I tell him he is going to need Botox by his first birthday.
We decided to start putting Braxton in his high chair during dinner. We thought he may not like it. He loves sitting in his high chair. I think he likes it because he is so high up. This day was a Gina day. The outfit he has on as well as the high chair were both gifts from Gina and her mother.
In the mornings Anthony gets Braxton and hold him while he is asleep before he goes to work. If Anthony does not hold him Braxton will NOT let Anthony touch him or come near him in the evenings. Instead of putting him back in his bassinet (now crib) Anthony puts him in his spot in the bed with pillows around him. Anthony woke me up to show me Braxton was on his tummy. We never put Braxton on his tummy due to his reflux issues. We both were so excited to see our little man had rolled over. We moved the pillows to get a good picture.
I feel like Braxton grew up so much in one week!
It was an amazing week! I cannot wait to see what this week has to bring!

Happy New Year

2009 is going to be OUR year!!!!!
Last year started off poor with the break in of our store. We were truly humbled by that experience realizing it can happen to you. We thought that 08 was going to suck. Then we found out just two months later that we were pregnant. The year became the most memorable year of our lives with the birth of Braxton. We know that 2009 is going to be filled with many amazing first. Braxton’s first time to pull up, crawl, and even walk. We cannot wait to watch him grow! We have never looked forward to a year as much as this year. 2009 is going to be great!
We stayed home and celebrated this new years eve just the three of us. We watched movies and spent some much needed down time together. It is amazing how much our lives have changed since last year. Last new years eve I cannot remember much of! This new year I will always remember!!!
Braxton was sound asleep when the new year rang in. We both kissed him happy new year and he slept right through it. Once Braxton has his bath and night time bottle he is out for the count. It takes a lot to wake him up. Finally he is only waking up one time in the middle of the night for a bottle. He is getting close to sleeping through the night!
Kramer ringing in the new year in his house! He hates the popping of fireworks and hides every year!
Scout was asleep on his bed! His bed is the love seat. He gets upset when he cannot lay their when guest are over and he is ready for bed!

Anthony and I looking totally glamours in our glasses and night clothes!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!
Hopfully this year will be your year too!

Braxton's First Christmas!

I cannot believe how much fun Christmas is with a child. Anthony and I had so much fun opening presents and celebrating Christmas with Braxton. Braxton woke up in an amazing mood and kept his great mood all day. His favorite Santa gift was his tummy time toy. He smiled and laughed!!!!!
It was the BEST Christmas gift ever!

We went to Anthony’s mother’s house and then my parents that day for dinner and gifts. Braxton loved all the presents he got from both families. By the end of the night we all were tired. It was such a perfect day! He is such a perfect boy!
Christmas Morning!
Braxton and Mommy! Bright and Early!

Braxton and Daddy!

He truly was happy! Santa picked a great gift!

We LOVE this picture! He was so happy Christmas day!

We had a late lunch with Anthony's Family and then headed to my parents for dinner!

Santa filled Braxton's stocking at his Gramy & Gramps House. By this time Braxton was ready for his nap!

YES! We did match! This was Anthony's Idea! I think it was the perfect outfit!

Christmas Photos

We went over to Gina's and took our family pictures! I love them! Braxton only tolerated the picture taking for about ten minutes before he cried. We ended up taking them in spurts! He did fine! We ended up with some really good stuff.
Braxton will be SEVEN weeks tomorrow! He is getting sooo BIG! We go to the doctor on Monday for his two month check up. I am sure he has grew a few more inches and gained another pound or so. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but he is long and skinny. Braxton LOVES his Daddy. They cannot get enough of each other. I must admit it makes me a little jealous. The good part is after a long day with Braxton it is nice when Anthony gets home. Anthony doesn't put him down. The two of them are both happy and I can have some Nicole time.

Merry Christmas!

Ho Ho Ho!

We took Braxton to the mall today to do have our family pictures done and some Christmas pictures of Braxton done. I just prefer Gina's style and ended up not buying a family photo at all. They were just so cheesy with the fake backgrounds. I called Gina on my out of the studio to book us another session.
Since Braxton was looking so CUTE we had his picture with Santa. Braxton did not want to wake up. Santa improvised and we got this adorable picture. It was worth waiting in line to see Santa! Check back again soon I promise to have posted our Christmas family photo.
